Packaging Challenges We Solve
Jewelry packaging needs to be developed around the product, not just the outer box. Rings, chains, earrings and sets need different cavity depths, hold points and lid clearance. Jiayi develops the structure and insert around the actual piece so the jewelry stays in position during handling, presentation and shipping.
- Jewelry must stay securely positioned
A loose nest lets a ring tip, a chain tangle, or a stone rub the lid. The insert should hold the band, card or outline — not leave the piece free to slide. - Small products require precise insert dimensions
Jewelry is small, so a few millimetres of extra cavity width or height is enough to lose presentation. Cavity length, width and depth are taken from the piece, including raised settings. - Different jewelry sizes may need different cavities
A ring, a pendant and a bracelet do not share one well. If several SKUs use the same outer box, the insert is usually what changes. A “universal” tray often holds none of them well. - Premium presentation must be balanced with shipping and production
A clean lid face, foil and wrap still have to close flat, survive packing and sit inside a mailer when the order ships. Board, insert height and lid style are checked together on sample.

Rigid Jewelry Boxes
Typical use: rings, small accessories and gift presentation that needs a firm wall and a clean lid face.
Main advantage: greyboard construction keeps a small box square and gives a stable surface for print or foil.

Magnetic Jewelry Boxes
Typical use: premium rings, small jewelry gifts and counter presentation that needs a controlled open.
Main advantage: the lid opens and closes cleanly, and the lid face stays usable for a logo.

Drawer Jewelry Boxes
Typical use: jewelry sets or gifts where a sliding open is part of the presentation.
Main advantage: a distinctive opening sequence; the tray can hold one or more cavities.

Custom Jewelry Boxes with Inserts
Typical use: any jewelry that must stay in a fixed position when the box is opened or moved.
Main advantage: the cavity is cut or formed from the jewelry dimensions, not from a stock tray.

Recommended Packaging Formats
These formats are already on the site. The right combination depends on jewelry size, presentation and shipping method.
Custom Inserts for Jewelry
Insert dimensions should be developed around the actual jewelry. A generic gift-box well is usually the wrong starting point. The hold point should be the band, card or outline — not the stone or plating.
Cavity length, width and depth follow the largest points of the piece, including a raised setting. Insert thickness and lid clearance are set together so the lid closes without wiping the jewelry. If a pouch or card sits under the piece, that stack has to be included in the height.
Different jewelry sizes usually need different cavities. Rings need a shallow nest; necklaces need length or a card hold so the chain does not tangle; earrings and sets often need two wells rather than one loose tray. If several SKUs share one outer, say that before sampling so the cavity plan is not rebuilt later.
EVA, paperboard, flocked card and molded pulp hold differently. Paperboard is easier to print. EVA and flocked inserts can give a tighter sit on a small piece. Molded pulp is appropriate when the outline is simple enough to form. The insert is there for both presentation and protection: it keeps the jewelry in place when the box is opened, packed or shipped.

Materials, Printing & Finishing
Greyboard and art paper are the usual jewelry combination. Paper inserts or flocked-look card can be used for the nest. Thin corrugated is for the outer shipper, not the jewelry face.
Foil on a small lid logo is common. Soft matte or soft-touch lamination keeps fingerprints down. Heavy spot UV on a tiny lid is easy to scuff; it is used only when the panel can take it. Logo placement is set after the lid size is locked so the mark sits in the center of a small panel.
