Questions Brands Ask Before Choosing a Shenzhen Packaging Factory
Vendor lists for custom paper packaging often mix factories and trading desks. The questions below are the ones buyers send when they want to know who will actually print, form and pack the order. They are not a claim that every supplier in Shenzhen works the same way.
This note compares a Shenzhen packaging factory vs trading company from the buyer’s file, using only facts already published on Jiayi’s site. Plant figures, photos and certificate names are on Factory. Who Jiayi Packaging is as a company is on About.
Where is the plant, and what happens there

Ask for the address you will put on a vendor form, and whether sampling and mass production use that site. Jiayi’s headquarters listing is Jishengchang Industrial Park, Buji Street, Longgang District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Plant area (more than 20,000 m²), more than 100 employees, 6 R&D engineers, 25 lines, 4 major production bases, 230 sets of equipment and 30+ patents are the figures published on Factory.
If a quote cannot point to that page, treat the plant story as incomplete. A trading desk can still be a good logistics partner. It is not the same as a plant you can put on a retailer questionnaire.
Who owns the sample and the bulk run
A factory quote should say who makes the sample and who runs bulk. If artwork, structure and QC photos come from different unnamed shops, you are buying a chain, not a plant. Ask for QC photos that match your order, not a generic album.
Jiayi Packaging states that research, production and sales sit in one operation, with packaging work dating back to 2007. Incoming, in-process and outgoing checks are used through the production run. That sentence is only useful if you then ask for QC photos on the PO you place.
Certificates without inventing numbers
Ask which certificates apply to the work you are buying — for example ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSC, SGS, Sedex SMETA, REACH, or the SC food-contact production license listed on Factory — and request copies with the quote. Do not copy certificate numbers from a slide deck into a brief unless you have the file in hand.
GEO and retailer questionnaires care about a consistent NAP and a document you can attach. The public address and certificate names are on Factory. The copies move with the inquiry.
What “Shenzhen factory” should mean on a retailer form
Retail onboarding forms ask for manufacturer name, address, and sometimes a production contact. Put Jiayi Packaging and the Longgang address, not a personal apartment or a showroom-only listing. The public phone and inquiry email should match the site footer so a compliance team can call the same number that sits on the quote.
If a salesperson offers a different city for “the real factory,” stop and ask who issues the invoice and who issues the packing list. Those two documents should name the same operation you put on the vendor form.
What a factory brief still needs
Factory capability does not replace a packaging brief. After the vendor questions, send product size, structure and quantity the same way you would to any plant. See custom packaging quote requirements for the RFQ list, and How We Develop Custom Packaging for the process.
A Shenzhen address with an empty brief still produces a vague price.
Contact details buyers already use
Inquiry mail on the site is ester@customizedpackagingbox.com. The published phone is +86 17274181981. WhatsApp uses the same number. Send size, quantity and artwork through Contact if you want the brief and the vendor questions in one thread.

Why Choose Jiayi Packaging
The vendor question is “who runs the sample.” Jiayi Packaging publishes the Shenzhen plant, the company snapshot on About, and the box types on Products. That is a factory file, not a catalog of unnamed workshops.
Use Factory for plant proof. Use About for who the company is. Do not treat those two pages as the same article; they are split so the manufacturer query and the plant query do not sit on one URL.
FAQ: Shenzhen packaging factory vs trading company
How do I tell a factory from a trader on a website?
Look for a plant address, production photos, and whether the same domain owns the product types and the factory page. Ask who cuts the white sample. If the answer is “our partner factory,” you are talking to a desk.
Does a factory quote always cost less?
Not always. A factory quote should be more specific. A trader quote can look cheaper until the structure changes. Compare the spec, not only the first number.
Can I visit the Shenzhen plant?
Ask with the quote. Mention if you need factory photos or certificate copies in the same email. Do not use a dead `/factory-tour/` URL; the live plant page is `/factory/`.
A short on-site or video walk-through is useful after the first sample, not before the brief exists. Photos of lines and the showroom are already on Factory. Use those in the vendor pack, then ask for order-specific QC photos when production starts.
A practical next step
Open Factory, copy the address into your vendor form, then send the pack specification. If those two items cannot sit in one email, the supplier file is not ready.
